A walk in an oriental bazaar. The sun tickles your skin, warms your face. The heated air, soaked with the scent of exotic spices, floods your lungs. The atmosphere envelops you like a velvety cloth of vibrant colors and light. You overhear a chat in a foreign language, listen to the melody of unknown words. You immerse yourself in this moment full of life. A moment worth remembering.
Part of the Reimagined Places Collection
Some time ago I read an article about the impressive work of the Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado and his wife Lélia, who dedicate their lives to the reforestation of the Brazilian rainforest. Since 1998, they have planted over 2 million trees that changed the environment and brought the area back to life.
This inspiring story fascinated me and led me to create the Reimagined Places Collection. A collection that focuses on our incredibly wonderful world. A world full of beauty and perfection to appreciate and enjoy. But not only the beauty we can actually see, but also the beauty of the places that merely exist in our mind. The ones we visit again and again in our memories, as well as the places we envision in our minds when we are seized by wanderlust and a thirst for adventure.
“Oriental Bazaar” is an 50x50x4,5 cm (approximately 19.5×19.5×1.7 inch) mixed media painting on thick gallery wrapped cotton canvas, hand-stretched in studio. The sides of this painting are painted, so it does not need to be framed, but it can be if you wish. Media used in this piece: Acrylic, oil pastel, wax pastel, graphite.
SHIPPING: After purchase, the painting will be sealed with a semi-gloss varnish to protect it form UV-damage. The painting will be shipped as soon as the varnish is cured enough to package (7-10 days).
