The humid, fresh air after a sudden summer rain, soaked by the scent of dry earth. The plants greedily absorb the raindrops, which slowly begin to evaporate again. Everything awakens to new life. Your gaze wanders over the hills and valleys of the water-drenched landscape and you inhale deeply the feeling of freshness and liveliness. You’re flooded with serenity and there’s no place you’d rather be.
Part of the Reimagined Places Collection
Some time ago I read an article about the impressive work of the Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado and his wife Lélia, who dedicate their lives to the reforestation of the Brazilian rainforest. Since 1998, they have planted over 2 million trees that changed the environment and brought the area back to life.
This inspiring story has fascinated me and led me to create a collection that focuses on our unbelievably wonderful world. A world full of beauty and perfection to be appreciated and enjoyed.
“No Place I’d rather be” is an 80x80x4,5 cm (approximately 31.5×31.5×1.7 inch) acrylic painting on thick gallery wrapped cotton canvas, hand-stretched in studio. The sides of this painting are painted, so it does not need to be framed, but it can be if you wish. Media used in this piece: acrylic and graphite.
